Production
NOVEM was shot in two parts. The first part involved shooting, on 16mm film, the “1973” footage of NOVEM recording their music. This took place at Dark Horse Studios in Murphysboro, Tennessee in May, 2004.
The second part involved shooting, on high definition video, the “modern day” narrative of the film. This took place on the University of Evansville’s campus and around the city of Evansville, Indiana in July, 2004.
The entire film was improvised from a script outline written by Brad Kimmel and Pat O’Connor.
